How to Make Money in the World of Online Marketing

You've seen them. The late night infomercials, the email offers promising riches. Sales pages telling you how this person or that made tens of thousands of dollars within a few short days and how you can do the same thing.

There's only one problem. It's all a lie. Sure, that guy who claims he made 10K in a couple days may not be technically lying, but what you're not hearing is that he made it by fooling people into buying into some worthless system or product, where the only person who ever made any money was him.

The Internet is literally filled with offers like this. And it makes it rally difficult for people who want to earn some extra money, or even those who would like to make online marketing their career, to know what to believe.

But there's an old adage, if it sounds to good to be true it is. Notice I didn't say probably is. It is. end of story.

Before you can ever make a penny online you need to understand the basic concepts.
Just because you go to the doctor doesn't make you a doctor.

Just because you spend a lot of time online doesn't make you an online marketer.

I cannot tell you how many emails I've received through the years from people who want to buy one of my products, but it is so obvious to me by the questions they ask that they have no business buying a product that in some cases is for advanced marketers.

Even when it is clearly labeled as such. You need to walk before you can run.

If you've never been in the marketing business you need to start at the beginning. Not the middle or end.

That's the reason so many people fail in online marketing. They don't want to take the time to learn.

You may need to spend 'some' money to learn the basics form a qualified expert, but no legitimate online marketer charges a newbie thousands of dollars. Those are scams.

You need to see how long an online business has actually been serving it's customers.

2 years in Internet time is equal to about 10 years in the real world. Most get rich quick offers disappear after a month or two. The person has cashed in, and closed up shop only to repackage the same offer under a different name and do it al over again.

You can succeed in the world of online marketing. There are legitimate people and businesses who really do want to help you. Just proceed with caution.
