Super Apprentice

An Honest SEO Equalizer Review

SEO Equalizer review

I am not a huge proponent of any Super Apprentice member going outside of Super Apprentice (SA for short) for any tool or piece of software that helps you make money online. Because the simple fact is SA has everything you will ever need to earn a steady stream of income online... and if SA doesn't have it, and a feature is requested that fits the overall SA process, it is created for our members.

Having said that, I have decided to give a quick review of a new product that is launching soon called SEO Equalizer. Hopefully you are getting a chance to read this before your email inbox drowns from the promotions that are sure to precede the launch.

SIDE NOTE: If at any time I start to bore you blathering on (I have been known to ramble), you can just go straight to the SEO Equalizer product page by clicking the big ole banner (top right) that says "Click Here Now".

Everyone that knows me (Dave Moore) and listens to any of my advice will tell you that although I am not in favor of new online marketers spending money on every SEO tool that comes out, that doesn't mean that I will automatically give a negative review. Same goes for the flip side of that argument. If I think a product is bull, you will hear about that as well. Basically, I will give you my opinion straight up!

Ok, now on to SEO Equalizer. SEO Equalizer is a desktop application that's sold as a tool for helping organize link building campaigns, streamlining keyword research, optimizing your websites SEO parameters, and analyzing Search Engine rankings, among other things. SEO Equalizer was created by a well-known marketer, Jeff Alderson. Jeff is considered to be one of the top "Gurus" online with revolutionary (I don't use that term sparingly) products like Traffic Equalizer, Adwords Analyzer... a few others. And in the spirit of transparency, I have to first tell you that I am a big fan of Jeff Alderson! And that is one of the reasons I don't mind reviewing his latest product.

Jeff has earned respect from me for so many reasons. The main one is that he is not one of those kind of guys who covets his label of "Guru". He is not one of these guys that went out and tried to make a name for himself. His cutting edge products, customer service, "out-of-the-box" thinking, and anti-narcissistic qualities (my personal favorite) do that for him. Just a little while back I made a post in the SA members forum (yes, well before I knew about SEO Equalizer, lol) about getting an update to Traffic Equalizer... and we are talking light-years since I bought the application! Understand, Traffic Equalizer was a one-off sale (one-time payment) and he is still kicking out updates every few months even though he has already made his money. How awesome is that to see from a "Guru" internet marketer?!
Here is the actual post I made in the SA forum:

I just want to make a comment about Jeff Alderson. I am not sure what you know about him, but he is one of the guys I really respect online. I got that TE update too... and I thought about the fact I probably bought that thing a zillion years ago and he is still sending out updates. ...  it speaks volumes about Jeff that he keeps supporting his apps for years and years after the sale. Good guy, I love it when internet marketers do the right thing.

So, from the start of this review, SEO Equalizer already has one foot... make that, one leg in the door as far as I'm concerned. But let's go over a few of the features in the application itself.

I am a big stickler for how a program feels went you first launch it. In other words - does it look intuitive, are the features presented well and are the feature tool-sets well organized so I can stay on task within a certain project. Well, I can categorically say that I got a really good feeling concerning the points I just mentioned when I opened up SEO Equalizer for the first time. It is clean, the interface is intuitive, and right away I can figure out exactly what I am supposed to do. That's a good thing. Below is a screenshot of what you initially see upon launch (after putting in a new project name).

I love me some simplicity! And that is what I see right away. If you can't read the main feature buttons on the left sidebar of the interface, they are: "Promote your Site", "Analyze Your Site", "Maintain Your Site", and "Settings".

After reviewing some of my other screenshots, I realized there might be some items that are revealed that Jeff might not want anyone to see except for owners of SEO Equalizer. So instead of pictures I will break down a few of the critical features that I think are important.

The "Promote" section is the most critical toolset to me so I will spend an extra minute or so breaking down the sub features in this section. So here is the low down:

  • Directory Submission Tool
Very nice/chunky SEO directory list built into the app that allows you to put a bunch of info about your site and then go through the list and click a button to submit your site to be included in the directory.
  • Link Submission Form Search
This feature allows you to find forms online to submit your site in order to gain a backlink. It is pretty cool the way it is setup as it gathers all the appropriate forms, then lets you plug in your sites info 1 time, and then you press 1 button to complete all the form automatically.
  • Competitor Backlink Search
This feature will go out to G, Y, MSN and pull all the backlinks that are pointing to your competitor's sites. Then you will be able to go through the results and see if you can also acquire links from the same webmasters.
  • Email Campaign Manager
In all honesty, this tool is not that big a deal. It actually looks like it might just be an email client built-in. But the good thing about using this email feature for conversing with linking partners is that you are able to keep all the correspondence in one tidy location along with the project that you are working on. So there is some benefit, but the feature itself is fairly basic.

The other main feature sections are Analyze & Maintain. The Settings section is just that, so no point in breaking that down any further. In Analyze you have:
Backlink Analysis - shows you who is linking back to your site, details page titles, anchor texts, IPs, total outgoing links on the pages linking back to you... a bunch of great information.
Wordtracker Keyword Tool - Very nice to see Wordtracker actually built into the application. This is something that SA hasn't even incorporated yet.
Keyword Density Analysis - This feature is rather simple, but nice none-the-less... gives you total keyword and keyphrase density of your websites pages. And also gives you some canned advice on optimization tweaks you could apply based on the analysis. It also allows you to save each report as you go along.
Banned Websites Checker - This lets you plug in your sites URL and make sure that all the links on your pages are pointing to sites that have not been de-listed/de-indexed (or banned) by Google.
Search Engine Rankings and Backlinks Tool - Out of all the tools in the Analyze section, this is by far the one I would use the most. Enter URLs and Keywords and it checks the 3 major SEs for ranking and backlinks. At the time of this review, some of my tests backlink results were not being harvested. I let Jeff know about it and knowing Jeff's level of dedication to his products, I am sure this will be remedied before he launches SEO Equalizer.

"Maintain" is the last of the main toolsets in SEO Equalizer. This section is mainly dedicated to helping you organize your link partnerships with other webmasters. It's sub-set of tools are Link Categories, Outgoing Links Manager, Import Links Manager, Directory creator (for your site), and a verification tool to check to make sure your link partners are still reciprocating your link. This entire section is well though out and very easy to use.

All in all, if you were told about just a single feature from SEO Equalizer the fact is you would probably not be absolutely blown away. But the biggest selling point to me is that there are so many quality features in 1 tidy application. They all have a natural flow to them as you are going through each feature when working on a project... and at the same time, SEO Equalizer doesn't have a bunch of "fluff" tools (that you would not use anyway) to inflate it's overall value.

Final SEO Equalizer Breakdown

Setup & Use - Nice!
You basically have one setup file you double click on your computer, click next a few times and it's done. Extremely intuitive, and this is quite frankly one the things I liked most about SEO Equalizer. There is no doubt that when you are more organized, or even if you have a good sense of being organized, you perform more efficiently. More efficiency equals more time & money in your pocket.

BS Factor - Non-Existent
The products sales page tells you that the work SEO Equalizer helps streamline for you is usually the type of work that most of us dread, but yet most of these task are very important to the success of your website when it comes to organic search rankings. It also tells you that SEO Equalizer will allow you to accomplish these tasks much quicker than before because all of the necessary tools are in one location and because it will keep all of your work organized on a per project basis.

Target Market - Newbie to Intermediate
This is perfect for those that don't have a process in place (or a poor system) for managing all these tasks. It is also great for newer marketers that don't know exactly the steps you need to go through to obtain and keep search engine rankings. I could also include expert level marketers in the target market because, if you are like me, you like to purchase and checkout all the latest software just to see how your own custom process could be improved. And at the price SEO Equalizer will be listed for, it is well worth checking out if you are in that group.

SA Model - Fits, But With A Caveat
IMO, this program fits perfectly with the overall theme of Super Apprentice coaching. But here is the deal - SA has some of the features (in some form) that you will find in SEO Equalizer. That said, SEO Equalizer has a good number of features that SA does not have and some members might want to use in an extra-curricular manner on top of what steps they are taking in SA. For non-SA members, I will gladly put my stamp of approval on the methods of optimization and link building SEO Equalizer helps facilitate.

Price - DING, DING, DING!
I deplore those testimonials that say something like "I can't believe you're charging so little for xxxxx" or "that price is too low, I beg you not to sell xxxxx to the public", bla, bla, bla. I just had to tell you where I'm coming from before I kind of run one of those cheesy lines myself. :) But in all seriousness, SEO Equalizer is super cheap for all that it helps you do. I think it is a great value for the price. It is a 1 time payment, and of course, you can expect "Jeff Alderson" level support and upgrades after the sale if you decide to pick up a copy.

Overall - Very Good
If you are looking for an All-In-One toolset that includes SEO analysis & link campaign management.... or you have struggled to achieve solid link popularity and search engine rankings for your site (mainly because of lacking a solid process) I would say that SEO Equalizer is a great program that will definitely help you out a great deal. Although the bottom line is if you aren't willing to put work in on these tasks, no software you purchase will ever help you be more successful. But if you just need a little guidance or some help in organizing these methods on a per site basis, you should at least think about getting SEO Equalizer as it is the most concise desktop application I have seen that will help you accomplish your goals.
